ELLIE MELDRUM

The brief was to take the beautifully designed, world-travel retail exclusive Cadbury 200 Years Bar and its key visual and bring it to life through a dynamic 30-second animation. Inspired by the rich heritage and iconic branding of Cadbury, the animation needed to capture the essence of the milestone celebration while engaging travelers in a visually compelling way. Designed specifically for a large screen within the duty-free area at Birmingham City Airport, the animation aimed to create an immersive and captivating brand experience, drawing attention to the limited-edition product and reinforcing Cadbury’s legacy of indulgence and craftsmanship.

Here is a photo of me unintentionally dressed like a bar of chocolate standing in front of the large screen showcasing my Cadbury 200 years animation at Birmingham Airport. This was a very proud moment for me seeing how much of an impact the animation had in person versus my computer screen.

STORYBOARDS
To the left is the bar design I was given to create this Cadbury 200 years animation. With 30 seconds to play with, I wanted to build a story and show off the bar's beautiful illustrations. I enlisted the help of a 3D designer Mark Armstrong to create the bar in motion (shown below on page 2/2) and then I worked to seamlessly integrate this into the rest of the animation.
Below is the final storyboard that was signed off for the animation to be created.
